25-OH-Vitamin D3, also known as calcifediol, is a prehormone that is produced in the liver from vitamin D3. It is the major circulating form of vitamin D in the blood and is used as a marker of vitamin D status. 25-OH-Vitamin D3 levels are influenced by factors such as diet, sun exposure, age, and genetics. Low levels of 25-OH-Vitamin D3 have been linked to a range of health problems including bone disorders, autoimmune diseases, and certain cancers.
